NERC Issues Recommendation to Industry re Transmission Line Ratings:
Consideration of Actual Field Conditions in Determination of Facility Ratings
NERC Directs Transmission Owners and Operators to Examine Rating Methodologies and Discrepancies Between Design and Actual Field Conditions of Transmission Facilities.
NERC recommends that registered entities review their ratings methodology to ensure the ratings are based on actual field conditions, not any design documents.
If any discrepancies exist, then those entities are expected to take remedial measures.
